Decoded - Jay-Z There are some interesting bits of memoir, and those portions are well-told, but Decoded also hits a bit too hard on a rationale for the lyrics and lifestyle. I do buy it, actually, but it's a point that could be gotten across in an anecdote or two.The writing is pretty crisp and rhythmic, as well. A bit more structure to the book and focused a bit more on the life of Jay-Z and I could really have gotten into it. It's such a cultural shift for me, to think that he's presenting snippets of a life in my own country and in my own time is revelatory.Glad I read it.
